Do you feel overwhelmed with your todo list? Is "creating fulfilling happiness" missing from that list? Everyday Happiness with Katie Jefcoat is here to help you. In 2-minutes a day, over time, you’ll discover how to reduce overwhelm and create lasting happiness through Katie’s signature method of Intentional Margins, happiness science, and musings about life. Start your day with a positive mindset. Many of us can get deep in the feeling of overwhelm. The anxiety of our own ambition can weigh heavily on our thoughts and emotions. We lay down and close our eyes at night and our chest begins to feel heavy. More items on the to-do list than the day before. How will we ever going to get off the hamster wheel of to-dos? When are we going to start living life for more than the hustle? As a recovering lawyer and passion driven entrepreneur, Katie knew something had to change. What she found is that you can have harmony, be intentionally productive and create massive impact, all at the same time - without feeling guilty. So she asked herself a simple question: "How can I get off the hamster wheel and how can I show others how to do the same? She knew she'd had a system for herself, but she’d never put it into defining words. On August 15, 2019, she sat down at her dining room table with her friend Jenna (her business bestie). Post-It notes covering the table. This is where she first defined the concept of Intentional Margins. What are Intentional Margins? INTENTIONAL MARGINS™ (n): A buffer of space and time to create harmony between your to-do’s and your priorities. Now you can get the support you need to manage your overwhelm, one little tip at a time. Regardless of the industry, Everyday Happiness blends inspiration with a pragmatic approach to finding Harmony. You'll be encouraged to throw “balance” out the window for a more achievable approach called harmony. Through Intentional Margins™, you'll be encouraged to develop what harmony means to you, by identifying your priorities at work and at home. Every day, we'll end the podcast help you feel equipped to jump off the hamster wheel of overwhelm and go out there and crush your day. --About the Host-- Katie Jefcoat is a community curator, speaker, author and motivator who supports ambitious women (and a few good men) move from feeling hectic to harmonious. As a recovering trial lawyer, she knows first hand what it feels like to have a demanding job. As an entrepreneur with a passion that lights her hair on fire and a busy family she’s in the thick of it with you. Many people strive for balance and think overwhelm is just a part of life. Sadly, the hustle culture and our never-ending to-do list is creating a life where our priorities are getting the leftover scraps of time. Katie introduces people to what she calls - Intentional Margins™ - a kind of life in which they reduce randomness, create harmony between their to-dos and their priorities and intentionally enjoy the meaningful parts of life - without feeling guilty. Without exposure to a different way, we remain stuck on the hamster wheel of to-dos and never find the “balance” we yearn for. Katie works diligently to expose her community to different ways of doing things, because she fundamentally believes we deserve to make time for our priorities. We deserve to live a life of harmony. And it’s within our control to create it. Katie curates a smorgasbord of content related to managing your calendar, handling overwhelm, setting boundaries, reducing randomness, saying no, self-care, the power of your choices, and more in her Intentional Margins™ Membership Community -- which she calls the coziest virtual coffee shop (on Facebook). 628-Defining Happiness Her Way With C.Lee Cawley
Sunday Feb 19, 2023
Sunday Feb 19, 2023
Today I get to chat with my good friend, organizing expert and educator C.Lee Cawley and ask her how she defines happiness.
Transcript
Katie:
Welcome to Everyday Happiness, where we create lasting happiness in about two minutes a day through my signature method of Intentional Margins® (creating harmony between your to-dos and your priorities), happiness science, and musings about life.
I'm your host, Katie Jefcoat, and today I am with my dear friend C.Lee Cawley, and I'm asking her how she describes happiness. C.Lee, welcome to the show.
C.Lee:
Thank you so much, Katie. I love this question, and when I thought about it, I thought that I define happiness in three different ways. Kind of past, present, and future.
And the past are the amazing memories that I have. I love to reminisce. Making memories is one of my family's priorities, and talking about them makes it even more real. So that's the past happiness.
Present would be kind of your immediate gratitude. This delicious cup of coffee, the beautiful autumnal leaves, those types of catching moments throughout the day are the kind of present happiness. And they're usually really small. It's not kind of a big picture, oh my gosh, I've been in love for 30 years. It's really like, boy, this tastes delicious.
And then there's the future happiness. And for me, it's the planning of vacations, planning get togethers with friends, anticipating, knowing that I've got something on my calendar that I know I'll enjoy, whether it's in person or if it's just our Wednesday coffee chats. I love to have those future plans.
So that's how I describe happiness, really. I put it in three different buckets: past, present and future.
Katie:
Oh, my gosh, I love this so much. And that is such a great perspective because there's so many ways to really enjoy happiness. So thank you so much for coming on the show, and I know that just was truth bombs for our audience and so much value. So we appreciate you.
And until next time, remember, kindness is contagious.

627-A Conversation On Creating A Physical Space That Brings You Happiness
Saturday Feb 18, 2023
Saturday Feb 18, 2023
Today I share a conversation with my friend Jenna and what she does to create a happy physical space. It’s a good one.
Transcript:
Welcome to Everyday Happiness, where we create lasting happiness in two-ish minutes a day, through my signature method of Intentional Margins®, creating harmony between your to-dos and your priorities, happiness, science and musings about life.
I'm your host, Katie Jefcoat, and I was talking to my friend, Jenna, about this series that I'm doing with you about physical space and clutter, and how that contributes to our happiness or unhappiness. She was all about it, I have to say she was actually really talking about some great ideas that she has that she does to create happiness in her physical space.
She agreed that I could share them with you to inspire you to maybe think about this as you're creating your physical space. So she, like most of us, is all about no clutter in our space, and to really have our desk organized. She thinks that when your space is organized, your mind is calmer. And she talked about that a lot. We talked about it together. And I think she's right. I feel so much better.
These are the things that she told me she does to help her physical space, not feel so overwhelming. First, she makes her bed every single morning. So making her bed makes everything seem calmer. Physical spaces, less cluttered, more tidy, such a good idea, right. And then she told me about this Maya Angelou doll that she has, it's a Barbie. It's a Maya Angelou Barbie. She has it at her desk. She works for a toy company. And so she has a lot of these kinds of trinkets at her desk. It makes her happy, because she knows Maya's story, Maya's achievements and it inspires her to continue to do the work that she does.
I just thought that was so interesting to have this Maya Angelou doll, this Barbie doll that really inspires my friend, Jenna to continue to create all of this abundance and greatness in the world. So maybe there's something like that that you want to highlight. Once you dig out from all of the clutter and all of the piles of paper. I don't know.
She also said that color matters to her. Her color is yellow, and she has yellow around her office and in her home office, because it makes her happy. The color makes her happy and that's enough for her.
So I'm just curious if you have anything in your physical space that makes you happy and if you would share it with us. We're over @everydayhappinesswithkatie on social media and we can't wait to hear about your physical space.
And, if you want to banish that paper clutter once and for all, you have to jump into my friend C.Lee’s free masterclass that is happening right now. I’ll leave a link in the show notes.

626-Happiness Habits Podcast Takeover With Julie DeLucca Collins Pt. 5 of 5
Friday Feb 17, 2023
Friday Feb 17, 2023
Today we have certified Tiny Habits coach Julie Delucca Collins sharing her tips for happiness habits, tune in to see how these tiny habits really do add up.
Transcript:
Hey there, you're listening to Everyday Happiness with Katie Jefcoat. But today I'm Julie DeLucca-Collins taking over.
And I am here to tell you the one thing and the one habit that helps me feel great. And this is again, all tiny habits add up.
One of the things that I like to tell people is that consistent action gets you traction. If you are thinking that little things are not going to matter, I encourage you and challenge you to really dispel that belief because the compounding effect is real.
Today I want to talk about water and why water matters. Water is something that can also create other habits, because little habits are like plants.
When you start a plant, it can really grow from there and it can spread. So even though water may not seem like a big deal, if you are drinking water, this is something that can help you feel hydrated, energized, happier and may inspire you to also pick the salad as opposed to the french fries.
So start small and you will see the change in your life and you will also feel proud of having this little habit in your life. So for me, it's daunting to be able to drink a lot of water.
When I think about having to drink half of my body weight in water, I could never do it because again, that's having to rely on motivation. So for that reason, I pick the moment, I pick the action in my life that happens every single day.
And for me that is letting my dogs out. So when I let my dogs out every morning, my tiny habit is I fill my water, my water bottle, and I'm not going for drinking it right then and there, but I start with that tiny habit and then when I see the water filled and it's sitting next to me, then I chug.
And every time I chug, I'm going to have to go to the bathroom. And when I go to the bathroom, then I drink some more water. So I have these anchor moments, letting the dogs out, etc. But ultimately you want to make sure that you are giving yourself credit for what you're doing. Hydrate, because when you feel better, then you can show up in the world better.
I am so happy and thanks for listening to me all week. Catch another episode of Everyday Happiness tomorrow.

625-Happiness Habits Podcast Takeover With Julie DeLucca Collins Pt. 4 of 5
Thursday Feb 16, 2023
Thursday Feb 16, 2023
Today we have certified Tiny Habits coach Julie Delucca Collins sharing her tips for happiness habits, tune in to see how these tiny habits really do add up.
Transcript:
Hey there, you're listening to Everyday Happiness with Katie Jefcoat. But today, I'm Julie DeLucca-Collins taking over.
I want to talk to you today about something that we all do and that probably creates a low level stress for all of us. I want to create some thoughtful, mindful and grateful ways for you, and we've talked about this already.
For you to be able to manage email. Email is something that we can't escape. It's part of our world now, but a lot of times many of us associate overwhelm when we're checking email.
So I'm going to give you one of my Tiny Habits that allows me to then be able to be happier when it comes to having email in my life.
Number one, I create some Intentional Margins®, like my friend Katie has taught me. I don't check email outside of the times that I've allocated in my schedule to be checked. That's number one.
So second is when I check email first thing in the morning, I only check it for maybe whatever time I've allocated. But here is the big one. And this is my tiny habit. After I have my time up with email, I close it out. I don't keep email open throughout the day. One, because it helps me be more productive.
Did you know that every time you get a distraction from what you are doing, you could lose about 17 minutes and it will take you to get back into whatever form of concentration you are in.
So for this reason, my tiny habit when it comes to email is after I check email in my designated times, I close the program and then I celebrate -- yay go me, I close out email.
And this forces you to be more intentional when you're checking your email and focus on what matters.
So I am here all week, see you tomorrow everybody for another episode.

624-Happiness Habits Podcast Takeover With Julie DeLucca Collins Pt. 3 of 5
Wednesday Feb 15, 2023
Wednesday Feb 15, 2023
Today we have certified Tiny Habits coach Julie Delucca Collins sharing her tips for happiness habits, tune in to see how these tiny habits really do add up.
Transcript:
Hey there! You are listening to Everyday Happiness with Katie Jefcoat. But today I'm Julie DeLucca-Collins and I am taking over.
I am talking about Tiny Habits and how you can incorporate tiny habits into your life to create the type of life that you want and increase your happiness overall.
Yesterday we talked about gratitude and today I want to talk about mindfulness. Because mindfulness is something that many of us forget or are not sure how to even incorporate into our life.
So the one thing that I'm going to share with you is that you don't have to sit and meditate for hours or breathe or do a lot of that. You can be going about your life and doing the everyday mundane stuff that then allows you to create a little bit of mindfulness.
In the afternoon, I typically have some tea and after I boil my water, then this is my mindfulness moment and this is my tiny habit. While I am pouring the water into my cup, I really become aware and I watch the water and I use all of my senses to pay attention.
I look at the water begin to change color as it hits the tea bag. And then I notice as I pour my little bit of honey into the tea and I bring that tea up to my nose and I smell it and I sit in that moment and really pay attention.
And after I create that intentional creation of my tea and I make my tea and that mindful moment in which I pay attention, I give myself a smile and I say, oh, I spend some moments in mindfulness.
So I want you to find time throughout your day. What are different things that you do? Maybe you pour yourself coffee or maybe when you get into your car, whatever it is, find the time to create mindfulness with the moments in which you are already doing things in your life and then celebrate for it.
I'm so glad you're here and see you tomorrow for another episode. I am here all week to talk about tiny habits.

623-Happiness Habits Podcast Takeover With Julie DeLucca Collins Pt. 2 of 5
Tuesday Feb 14, 2023
Tuesday Feb 14, 2023
Today we have certified Tiny Habits coach Julie Delucca Collins sharing her tips for happiness habits, tune in to see how these tiny habits really do add up.
Transcript:
Hey there, you're listening to Everyday Happiness with Katie Jefcoat. But today I'm Julie DeLucca-Collins taking over. I want to talk to you about another Tiny Habit.
Tiny habits again, are the things that allow you to create the behavior you desire and become the embodied person you want to become without going big and failing. Because sometimes failure is what takes away our joy and happiness.
So in order for you to continue to grow your habit and be happy about what you are able to do, I encourage you to create a habit of gratitude. And I know Katie talks about this all the time, and at times we're probably like, oh, how do I do this?
I don't know. And you've heard the experts talk about a gratitude list, talk about all the different things that you can do.
If you're wondering how you start, how do you get started, I'm going to teach you a little recipe that will help you create the gratitude habit.
So now I do make lists here and there, but I will tell you, the one thing that helps me in my relationship with my husband is being grateful about having him in my life.
And trust me, ladies, and some gentleman, there are times that our significant other does things that maybe, you know, leave their shoes somewhere where you can trip over them that make you like, oh my gosh. So I remind myself to be grateful for him.
Every night my husband wears a CPAP to sleep, and every night when I get in bed and he puts his CPAP on, right, that is my anchor moment. That reminds me to do my little habit. And my little habit is I say, I am so grateful for this person in my life. And I take that moment and I put my hand on his shoulder and he doesn't even know why I'm putting my hand on his shoulders half the time, because it's just a mundane moment in our life.
So after I do that, then I give myself a thumbs up because I just created a moment of gratitude. So that's my tiny habit when it comes to creating gratitude. And that helps me create more happiness in my life.
I will see you tomorrow for another episode. I'm here all week.

622-Happiness Habits Podcast Takeover With Julie DeLucca Collins Pt. 1 of 5
Monday Feb 13, 2023
Monday Feb 13, 2023
Today we have certified Tiny Habits coach Julie Delucca-Collins sharing her tips for happiness habits, tune in to see how these tiny habits really do add up.
Transcript:
Hey there, you're listening to Everyday Happiness with Katie Jefcoat. But today I'm Julie DeLucca-Collins, a business and life strategy coach and Tiny Habits certified.
I'm so excited to talk to you about tiny habits because tiny habits can help you increase your happiness. The biggest thing that happens when you are trying to design new behavior or create a habit is that a lot of people want to go big or go home.
And I can tell you that brain science and research says that if you are trying to rely on motivation to create a habit, you are surely going to fail. Your brain changes when you feel good.
So to start off your day, here is a way that you can create happiness for yourself and create a habit that will be long lasting. First, you create a recipe and the recipe is when you do one thing, you attach your habit and then you celebrate after you do your little tiny habit and your tiny habit has to be something small and doable.
First of all, my first thing that I do every day, and I learned this from Dr. Fogg who is the creator of the Tiny Habits book and that's where I got certified, is when my feet hit the floor in the morning, I then say it's going to be a great day and I give myself a thumbs up or I do a little dance and I celebrate.
And that is my tiny habit for setting myself up for success. And throughout the day I'm like, oh, this is a great day and I keep saying that but ultimately it started in the morning by creating that mindset and it's not big, right?
I'm not writing a whole big journal about it and I'm not jumping and doing a lot of different things but just telling myself that and celebrating. So again, this is how you can create a little bit of happiness with just a little tiny habit.
So stay tuned for more and thank you. See you tomorrow for another episode. I'm here all week.
P.S. If you are interested in a habits challenge, Julie is starting a free 5-day challenge on Monday February 20th. You get expert coaching from a Tiny Habits Certified coach and a community to help cheer you on and support you with the right accountability.

Today we have a longer bonus episode where I chat with Julie DeLucca-Collins, and it is so inspiring. She is an example of someone who lives in her core value of breathing confidence into women when they can’t always see it for themselves and it is magic.
Transcript:
Katie: Welcome to Everyday Happiness where we create lasting happiness in about two minutes a day through my signature method of intentional margins, (creating harmony between your to-dos and your priorities), happiness, science and musings about life.
I'm your host, Katie Jefcoat, and today this is a bonus episode because I get to chat with my dear friend, Julie DeLucca Collins. She's a business and life strategy coach and she's certified in tiny habits.
And I know you are going to love what we're going to talk about today and you are going to love what she's going to share with you over the next five days because it's all about happiness habits. Julie, welcome to Everyday Happiness.
Julie: Thank you Katie Jefcoat. Thank you so much for having me. I love that I'm on your podcast. This is my regular weekly, daily rotation. So thrilled. Oh, my God, it's going to be weird. I'm going to have to hear myself in your podcast.
Katie: It's going to be amazing and it's going to be so much fun. I'm so glad that you are here. You have always been one of my biggest fans and biggest cheerleaders in getting this message out to people that could use a little boost in their happiness.
Julie: Absolutely. And by the way, I was telling somebody earlier this week, I said, you know, one of the gifts of the Pandemic is Katie Jefcoat, because she's one of the first people I met through the pandemic. And if you're not looking at the pandemic as the thing that gave you a gift, go back and rather than looking at it as a white wall, go and find all of the gifts that came from that and you're definitely one of them for me.
Katie: Oh, my gosh, I love that so much. And the feeling is absolutely mutual. So if you can remember, tell our listeners a little bit about how we met because it's not in real life.
Julie: It's not in real life. Even though you live in an area where I lived, I lived in the DMV area and I love it. And if I had to move out of Connecticut and it wouldn't be New York, it would be that area. But we met through a mutual friend, Keatha, and she is an incredible podcaster and weight loss coach doing some wonderful, wonderful things in the world.
But when I launched my podcast Casa DeConfidence during the pandemic, she said, you have to have my friend Katie on the show. And I said, yes, absolutely.
And we got on the phone and the first thing you said to me is, what is lighting your hair on fire? And I'm like, what? Oh, my God, I don't even know what to say to that. And I loved it.
And I said, this is my person. This is someone that I love because this is just something that is unusual. It will always make me remember her. But it's true. Something has got to be lighting your hair on fire. And that's a great way to get to know someone.
I loved our first conversation, and I invited you to the Casa DeConfidence show and you taught me about Intentional Margins®, which, by the way, I use that a lot when I'm talking to my clients and I'll say “Katie Jefcoat says you must create Intentional Margins®”.
And, yeah, we've just been collaborating. I joined your community and you have been one of these people that we come alongside of each other, doing life as business besties and doing the work.
And anytime that I have a question or a thought, I know that I can always pick up the phone and say, hey, Katie, what do you think of this? Or you'll catch up with me and catch me up. What are you working on? And we really bounce things off of each other. And if you want happiness in the world, I think that you really need to surround yourself with the people that make you better, that grow you, that are aligned with your values.
And ultimately, the African proverb I've been saying this a lot, but the African proverb that says “if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”. And this -- you are one of those people that I'm going far with. So I love it.
Katie: Oh, my gosh, I love that too.I love it so much. I love cheering on other people that are doing things that they are passionate about and you have the exact same philosophy. So just meeting was so much fun. And then we've really been steadfast in our connection and walking this path together.
So, it lights my hair on fire just to have you in my life. It's so much fun. And we get to test all the things that are going on and be like, does this sound right? Can I have a gut check?
Julie: Yeah, for sure. And I think that you need that in life and if you don't have it, start to be open to the idea and also be open to meeting new people and it's going to be a little uncomfortable.
When you first get on a phone call with someone you don't know, but ask a friend, hey, if you're very cool, who else do you know that's very cool and who can I connect with? And connection is so important.
Katie: Oh, my gosh, I cannot agree more. First, behavioral contagion, right? We really do mimic the behaviors of others, so if we're all elevating, that always helps. And social connection is one of the keystones to happiness.
Oh, my gosh, all the things I love so much. So if you could share with me a little bit about you, where you started, what you're up to, what's going on in your world, because it feels like it's all the magic.
Julie: Well, if anybody checks me up online, the first thing they'll probably see is that I'm a business and life strategy coach. But I didn't start here. I started out as a teacher and then I moved to work in corporate America, still in education, and I grew through the ranks of a company, a national company, in education.
And I loved it and they gave me some great opportunities and they had a philosophy of building their team from within and they really invested in training and growing individuals to grow into the seats of their executives. And I was so fortunate to be there.
I learned a lot when it came to starting a new business line. I came in as a little corporate coordinator for one of the VPs and eventually I took over. He didn't leave the company, but I took over that job. I was the VP or Executive Director first for the partnerships that we did with school districts nationwide.
But the great thing about this company is that they taught all of us and their executives about marketing, they taught us about operations, development, how to be able to be a very well rounded individual growing a business. And I loved it.
And then I got to take that experience into another company where I ended my career. I was there for twelve years. My last role was Chief Innovation Officer for the company and I oversaw all of the contracting and work that we did with school districts nationwide as well. I helped to expand the company out of New York into Texas, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, and we continue to do work and expand the support systems that we created for school districts, for students, for teachers and administrators. And I loved it.
But there was one piece for me that I always felt really called and passionate about. Although education is definitely something that I'm passionate about, helping kids and families was great and I love supporting teachers because I had been in that seat.
I also knew that I wanted to help women because as I climbed the corporate ladder, I started to see that there weren't a lot of women, the higher you got, number one. Number two, if they were, and I talk about this in my book because I wrote a book through the pandemic, and that was one of the gifts of the pandemic again from me.
Not every woman has been trained or is open to the idea of being supportive. So I wanted to create and listen. I'm guilty. I think that in the very beginning I wasn't as supportive and loving and kind and mentoring as I should have been as an executive.
And that's one of the things that I started to do is I started to realize that I wanted to rectify, that I wanted to create an environment in which I help other women build the confidence that they needed either to grow their careers or to become a better version of themselves or to start a business.
And many women who are starting businesses don't know where to start, what to do, first, second or third. And when I was laid off through the pandemic, another one of my gifts the pandemic gave me, I knew exactly this is what I was going to do. I was going to start my own business, and I was going to do the type of work that supported women specifically to become more confident in their life and business and become the CEO of their life and business.
I wanted to be able to breathe the belief into them, that somebody and so many other women have done for me, have given me that ability to grow, be a better version of myself, and become successful at achieving my dreams. So Go Confidently Services was born out of that.
And I launched the podcast Casa DeConfidence, and that was something that my husband sort of put on my plate. He said, hey, you're going to start a podcast. And I was like, Why? He's like, Because you're not having a birthday party. We're in a pandemic. And I was having a big birthday. And I'm like, what? What do you mean?
And that kind of put my energy out of planning or being in that slump of not doing the things that I thought I was going to be doing all of a sudden just growing and creating a platform where people like yourself can come in and talk about what is your journey to confidence.
Because I think that in a world where social media rules, we see everybody's high points and we are not seeing that. You know, we don't always have it together. And that was one thing that people would say, you're too confident. Look at you growing, getting a promotion, doing great things. But I don't always have it together. And the thing that helps me show up and have it together when I don't feel like it is habits, and that's what I fall back on.
Katie: Oh, my gosh, I love this so, so much. I cannot wait to get into your five episodes on happiness habits. It's going to be magic. You also are really an example of breathing life into people and really helping them secure a vision and clarity around how to grow a business, if that's what they want, or how to manage life. You know, you have workshops that you do every so often where you can really dive in with other individuals.
Usually there's some offer on Zoom, so I encourage listening to make you follow Julie DeLucca-Collins so that when she does offer something again, you'll know about it.
So until next time, you're going to hear from Julie. Remember, kindness is contagious.

621-Defining Happiness Her Way With Stephanie Arapian
Sunday Feb 12, 2023
Sunday Feb 12, 2023
Today I get to chat with my good friend Stephanie Arapian and ask her how she defines happiness.
Transcript
Katie:
Welcome to Everyday Happiness, where we create lasting happiness in about two minutes a day through my signature method of Intentional Margins® (creating harmony between your to-dos and your priorities), happiness science, and musings about life.
I'm your host, Katie Jefcoat, and today I'm with my good friend Stephanie Arapian, and she's an actor, a writer, and I just have to say, seriously, one of the most inspiring individuals I have ever met.
And I'm so excited to ask her this question, what makes her happy? Welcome, Stephanie. What makes you happy?
Stephanie:
Well, thanks for having me. I'm going to start, I guess I could say smiling. And it's not just that fake smile you put on or the smile that you were, like the polite smile. It's when you're doing something and you don't even realize that you're smiling. When something just hits you and your body is already having a physical reaction to that by irresistibly smiling.
And that could be a whole bunch of different things. For me, it's sometimes babies and laughing, even if I don't have kids. It could be a type of flower or just the right way the light hit something off of the trees in the moonlight as I'm taking a nighttime walk or just hearing a cat purring. It could be so many things.
And I think that the more I think about this question, the more open the answer it becomes. It can be as wide open as you like it to be, but as long as it brings you that feeling of happiness.
For me, sometimes it's chilling in my cool space of reading. Sometimes it's just having a nice warm cup of tea. Sometimes it's just talking with my family. So anything that brings that subconscious, irresistible smile to my face, that's my happy place.
Katie:
Oh, my gosh, I love this so much. I mean, you and I have done zoom for a long time, and sometimes we're smiling so much our cheeks hurt, and I just love it so much. And really, you're talking a lot about Intentional Margins®, right?
Having that cup of coffee, what is that? Or tea, what does that look like? What am I doing? And you just can't help but, you know, enjoy the things that are bringing you all of this joy and happiness.
So I am loving this conversation so much. Thank you for sharing what makes you happy and tune into the next episode tomorrow. And don't forget, kindness is contagious. So go out there and sprinkle a little kindness in the world today and give a stranger a smile.
About Stephanie:

620-How To Clear Your Email Inbox For More Happiness And Calm In Your Life
Saturday Feb 11, 2023
Saturday Feb 11, 2023
Declaring Email bankruptcy and starting fresh was a game changer for me, and today, I’m going to share with you how I did it.
Transcript:
Welcome to Everyday Happiness where we create lasting happiness, in 2-ish minutes a day, through my signature method of Intentional Margins® (creating harmony between your to-dos and your priorities), happiness science, and musings about life.
I'm your host Katie Jefcoat and if you listened yesterday to the episode about declaring clutter bankruptcy, I wanted to follow up with a hack for email too. Email and paper are by far my two biggest and chronic problems in staying organized, staying clear focused and staying on my game. I’m in a constant state of struggle with keeping up with the email and paper.
Thankfully, my friend C Lee’s course has helped me put systems into place for most of the paper. And this email system does work for me. But I will warn you, it’s not a one and done for me. I’ve declared email bankruptcy multiple times.
Here’s how it works. Create a folder in your email system called “bankruptcy April 2022” or whenever you are doing this. You can also use “Archive April 2022” The words don’t matter as long as it is something you can remember. If you do this more than once you can even nest your bankruptcy folders - oh yeah, I’ve been then.
This does two things. First, it immediately gets you to Inbox Zero with a clean slate. This feels amazing. Second, it keeps everything in a searchable archive so if you are looking for that recipe a friend sent you, a confirmation for the sweater you ordered online, it’s all there. And if you use Gmail, it’s all very searchable.
You can also, at your leisure, review your bankruptcy folder and mass delete from specific senders and look for items that you really do want to organize in your email reference folder, for example. Most of the time, if someone needs something from you and you haven’t responded, they will email again, so this system works pretty well.
If you use the snooze feature on Gmail, the snoozed email will pop up in your inbox at the time you indicated.
So, that’s my tip for clearing the email clutter so that you can feel less stressed, less overwhelmed and that translates to a little bit happier. If you are interested in how to banish that paper clutter, you have a couple days to jump into the free masterclass by my good friend C Lee. She’s a professional organizer and she’s got the best system for success with your paper piles. You can get our Everyday Happiness link in the show notes. And remember, kindness is contagious, so go out there into the world and be extra kind to someone today.

In the spirit of full disclosure, if you enroll in the Paper Cleanse via my link, I'll receive a small commission. Because your success is important to me, I only recommend systems that I've personally used to create real results in my own life. The KARMA system works and C Lee is a great teacher.
